Pathways to Sustainability Discussion

Sunday, 29 January 2012

To those who attended our December Event,

I wanted to say thank you for coming and making it such a wonderful weekend.  My hope is that as individuals and as a community we can take the inspirations from that weekend and explore new and useful ways of applying it.  Over the weekend, what was highlighted most for me was the importance of both heart and mind when I comes to collaborative learning and sustainable goal setting. As a community we are at a place where goal setting is important and I would love to hear from you about what was valuable and what you would like to put into motion both personally and collectively.  I have already heard of more community events being created at Blue Thunder Circle Arts Lab!! (stay tuned...)

Also, I would like to thank Joe Bob for co-hosting the event with EBI and for his wisdom all weekend.  I think we all can remember fondly the “Word Wall” and Joe Bob’s unique and inspiring creativity.  I’d also like to thank Kari, Rose and Erin for sharing their wisdom and passions with us as well. We can’t forget Emily Virzi and her Locavore Catering!  Keep an eye out for her...she’s going to be famous one day, I’m sure of it.  I’d also like to thank Justin Fishback for doing most of the pre-planing and visioning of this event, and to Active Minds and WRAP for their financial support to make it happen.  This was a great first event for all of us!

Finally, I wanted to remind folks who are interested in the Earth-based Institute’s Transformational Wilderness Guiding Certificate Program that registration is closing February 10th. You can find more information on the EBI Website and you can also call me to learn more (720-443- 1193). I am very excited about the new students who are finding their way to the program. Such a wide variety of skills, experiences and passions.

In the last few months this program has received some significant endorsements from both colleges in Colorado and wilderness therapy programs.  Not only is recognized as an important professional training program, it is also being recognized as an important learning experience for individuals interested in making a difference in the world through nature-based experiences.  We are at a crucial time environmentally and collectively, it is not the time to sit on your hands and hope for change to happen.  Now is the time to be a leader and to discover and live your vision for a healthy future.  Come join us!

Thank You!

Michael
